Alex Nikulin, Ph.D.
Alex is the Co-founder and CEO of Aletair. His research focuses on the emerging field of automated geophysical surveying, as well as the broad field of Energy Geophysics. Alex is a co-founder of the Geophysics and Remote Sensing Research Laboratory at Binghamton University, a collaborative academic platform that brings together undergraduate and graduate researchers, faculty from multiple departments of Binghamton University, as well as multiple industry, academic, government, and NGO partners, to work on resolving critical issues facing society through innovative applications of geophysical techniques. Alex has received funding from the National Science Foundation and American Chemical Society to develop non-invasive geophysical imaging technology. Alex has published, in peer-reviewed journals like Remote Sensing, The Leading Edge, and the Journal of Conventional Weapons Destruction, amongst others.
Alex is a FAA 107 certified Remote Pilot, with expertise in UAV survey design, operations, and maintenance.

Timothy S. de Smet, Ph.D.
Tim is the Co-Founder and CTO of Aletair. His areas of expertise are aerial remote sensing and near-surface applied geophysics. Tim’s research utilizing frequency and time-domain electromagnetic-induction, magnetometry, ground-penetrating radar, terrestrial laser scanning and aerial LiDAR, multispectral, hyperspectral, and thermal infrared remote sensing and has been published in peer-reviewed journals like Geophysics, Near Surface Geophysics, Sedimentary Geology, Remote Sensing, The Leading Edge, and the Journal of Conventional Weapons Destruction, amongst others. Tim has received federal grant award funding from the National Science Foundation, United States Geological Survey, and National Park Service, amongst others.
Tim is a FAA 107 certified Remote Pilot, with expertise in autonomous UAV/UAS survey development and execution.

Denise M. Cox
Denise is Aletair’s Energy Industry Operations & Sustainability Advisor. Denise serves as President of Storm Energy, Ltd. where she is responsible for evaluating projects, technology, and partnerships for the company’s energy portfolio. She began her career with Marathon Oil as a research geologist and moved into onshore operations to specialize in the application of technology to the development of conventional and unconventional reservoirs. After 20 years she joined Storm Energy where her exploration work included proprietary high-resolution aeromagnetic data. Denise is currently focused on technology for sustainable energy development including reducing methane emissions from orphaned wells and carbon capture, use and storage. Denise is Past-President of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (2018-19) and speaks globally to energy industry leaders and academia on sustainable energy development.

Michael (Mike) Jagielski, MBA
Mike is Aletair’s Clean Energy Industry Advisor. Mike is a seasoned business executive and technology entrepreneur with over 30 years of experience working with CEOs of companies ranging from SMB to Fortune 100. Leveraging his expertise in the areas of Big Data Analytics, Solution Sales Methodologies and Business Monetization Strategies, Mike has the tools and track record to progress clean energy companies both within the SCI program, as well as working with private corporations, investors, and state and government agencies, to commercialize these endeavors for the public good. As the Program Director for the Southern Tier Clean Energy Incubator, a NYSERDA supported program, Mike utilizes his passion for mentoring entrepreneurs to rapidly expand the presence of clean energy businesses budding in the Southern Tier of New York State.
